PROJECT 21

City: Kharkiv

Project manager: Igor Biletskyi

Technology Readiness Level: 7

The aim of the project is to develop a methodology for creating camouflage nets using a polyamide base (38-43 mm mesh made of twisted light and heat stabilised thread) and fabric scraps left over from cutting military uniforms, for example scraps of MM14 pixel, multicam, varan, frog, mavka, etc. It is possible to produce both unique parterre for urgent coverage of military and military facilities and theatre of operations, and specific camouflage related directly to the area.

In the latter case, the surface area is fractalised to create appropriate textures (grass, soil, sand, snow), which are then taken into account when creating the camouflage grid. Unlike the existing industrial camouflage nets, which, due to the principles of their production, have a periodically repeating image that is easily recognised by the enemy during automated processing of digital terrain photographs, the nets we offer have a low probability of automatic recognition due to their high entropy. The front is close.

Camouflage nets are a consumable item during active hostilities. Improper camouflage can cause an artillery strike, injury, death, or destruction of valuable equipment or facilities. Camouflage nets are vital for our military at the frontline. By weaving fabric into nets, we bring our Victory closer. A camouflage net for our defenders is like a talisman of Ukraine, it is a help to the army and a contribution to our Victory.

  1. How does Cameleon camouflage work in white winter conditions or is this concept only for non snow conditions?
